Installation of the Obama portraits

On February 12, 2018, the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery unveiled its commissioned portraits of former President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama by artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, respectively.

The portraits were installed in the museum the following morning, making them available for the public to see.

  • what a time to be alive, I am most proud to say I voted for Mr Obama, time and American history will no doubt prove he is deservedly one of the best president’s we will ever have and their portraits are stunning by two outstanding Black artist wish I could have been there. love everything about the portraits and the National Portrait Gallery.
