Free, online course in physics offered by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

“Physics for the 21st Century,” a free, online course developed at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics about current research in physics is now available. It consists of eleven units that introduce cutting-edge topics from the basic building blocks of matter, to gravity and other fundamental interactions, atomic-scale physics, and cosmology. The goal is to make recent advances in the field accessible to anyone with an inquisitive mind, including undergraduates, teachers, and the general public.

Produced in cooperation with Annenberg Media by the Science Education Department of the Center for Astrophysics, under the leadership of Matthew H. Schneps and Alex Griswold, it was designed by Christopher Stubbs and features Center for Astrophysics scientists Doug Finkbeiner and Robert Kirshner.
